E’ andato in scena ieri sera nella Nationwide Arena di Columbus (Ohio) il primo concerto di Rock Paper Scissors, il tour che Peter Gabriel e Sting hanno deciso di intraprendere insieme.
Iniziato sulle note di The rythm of the heat e terminato su quelle di Sledgehammer, entrambe dell’ex Genesis, il concerto ha visto in scaletta un alternarsi tra i pezzi più celebri dei Police, da Every little thing she does is magic a Every breath you take, passando per Roxanne, i brani di Sting e quelli di Peter Gabriel, con un’unica piacevole incursione nel mondo Genesis, con Dancing with the moonlit knight, eseguita dal solo Sting, in apertura a Message in a bottle.
Durante il concerto, inoltre, Peter Gabriel ha proposto un inedito, il secondo nel giro di una settimana (pochi giorni fa aveva pubblicato a sorpresa I’m amazing, canzone dedicata a Muhammad Ali): si tratta di Love can heal, pezzo dedicato alla deputata laburista Jo Cox, uccisa il 16 giugno scorso.
