Desert Trip, foto e scaletta della seconda giornata con Paul McCartney e Neil Young

È da poco terminato a Indio, in California, il secondo giorno del Desert Trip, il festival con le più importanti icone del rock. Dopo il grande inizio con i Rolling Stones e Bob Dylan oggi sul palco del California’s Empire Polo Club sono saliti Paul McCartney e Neil Young.

Lo show di Neil Young, iniziato sulle note di After the Gold Rush, è stato ricco di spunti sociali e politici e di “frecciatine” contro il candidato alle presidenziali Donald Trump. «Propongo a Trump di usare il brano Welfare Mothers per la sua campagna elettorale», ha ironizzato l’artista di Toronto sul palco.

Lo show di Paul McCarteny, invece, è stata una vera e propria celebrazione dell’amore. Il concerto è iniziato con A Hard Day’s Night ed è continuato con i più grandi classici di Paul e dei Beatles: da My Valentine, che Il baronetto di Liverpool ha voluto dedicare alla moglie, a Let It Be e Hey Jude.
Durante l’esibizione non sono mancate le sorprese. A metà concerto Paul ha ospitato sul palco Neil Young e insieme hanno eseguito A Day in the Life, Give Peace a Chance (il brano scritto da John Lennon nel 1969) e Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?.
