Gli U2 sono tornati sul palco in Oceania e Asia con il The Joshua Tree Tour 2019.
I primi 2 show inaugurali del tour si sono tenuti ad Auckland, con le due date consecutive dei giorni 8 e 9 novembre presso l’MT Smart Stadium.
Due bellissime ed emozionanti date quelle in terra neozelandese: tra i momenti piu alti dei due show il ricordo di Greg Carroll, roadie, amico ed assistente personale di Bono, morto tragicamente a Dublino nel 1986, per un incidente stradale mentre era alla guida della moto del cantante degli U2, e l’omaggio durante One alle vittime di Christchurch: «There’s only one song we can play and you know what it is…One church. Smashed into a thousand pieces».
Bono durante lo spettacolo fa posto ad entrambi i suoi alter ego: Shadow Man, nato nel The Joshua Tree Tour 2017, e MacPhisto, nato invece durante lo Zoo Tv Tour e tornato sul palco con la band di Dublino lo scorso anno durante l’U2eiTour.
