Sono state annunciate alle 14:30 ora italiana, in diretta da Beverly Hills, le nomination per la 96° edizione degli Academy Awards. Gli Oscar 2024, che premieranno le migliori produzioni cinematografiche del 2023 e i loro protagonisti, andranno in onda dal Dolby Theatre di Hollywood, Los Angeles, il prossimo 10 marzo, e saranno trasmessi dalla ABC con il ritorno alla conduzione di Jimmy Kimmel per la quarta volta.
Non sorprende che a fare incetta di candidature siano stati “Oppenheimer” di Christopher Nolan (13), “Povere creature (Poor Things)” di Yorgos Lanthimos (11), “Killers of the Flower Moon” di Martin Scorsese (10) e “Barbie” di Greta Gerwig (8). Ma, proprio a proposito di quest’ultimo titolo, lascia abbastanza sgomenti che né la regista, né la protagonista Margot Robbie siano state selezionate nelle rispettive categorie, a riprova del fatto che film che accendano, ciascuno col proprio stile, il dibattito sulle disparità di genere sono ancora, purtroppo, molto necessari.
Come vi abbiamo già comunicato, Matteo Garrone entra nella cinquina per il miglior film straniero con il suo “Io capitano”: il regista romano potrebbe riportare in Italia l’ambita statuetta a dieci anni dalla vittoria de “La grande bellezza” di Paolo Sorrentino.
